CENTER BARNSTEAD – Mr. Paul E. Doucette Sr., 76, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home on Peacham Road.

Born in Malden, Mass. on Aug. 29, 1937, Paul was the son of Ernest and Alma (Graffam) Doucette. He had been a Malden resident for 44 years before moving to Center Barnstead in 1981.

Paul worked as a heating technician from the age of 14 with his father and brother for Blue Flame Oil. After his move to New Hampshire he worked as foreman for Bellemore Oil in Bedford and retired from Irving Oil in Concord.

As an Army reservist, Mr. Doucette served as a military police and later as an auxiliary policeman for the Town of Malden, Mass. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and traveling.

Members of his family include his wife, Mary (Hall) Doucette of Center Barnstead; children, Paul Doucette Jr. and his wife, Vicki, of Center Barnstead, Deb Proper and her husband, Steve, of Wilmington, Mass., Donna Sharkey of Avon and her husband, Ray Sharkey, of Everett, Mass.; step-sons, William Kenney of Moira, N.Y. and Charles Kenney and his wife, Kim, of Easley, S.C.; six grandchildren, Melinda Sharkey, Paige and Breanna Doucette, Autumn and Sienna Kenney and Lauren Turpin; his first wife, Barbara Doucette of Salem; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Doucette.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering Saturday, March 8, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom, with a brief service at 1:30 p.m.

A reception will follow at the Center Barnstead Fire Station from 6 to 8 p.m.
