Paul John (PJ) Sacco, of Concord, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 8, 2013 after a brief illness. He was 87.

Paul was born November 9, 1925 in Akron, N.Y. He was the son of Pasquale and Raffaele Sacco, he and his twin sister Mary were the youngest of six children. Paul received schooling in Akron and played as a linebacker for the Akron High School football team.
Paul was a World War II veteran, serving in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class on a LCM (landing Craft Mechanized) ship. He met his wife, Lorraine, through her brother, who served in the Navy alongside Paul. Paul and Lorraine were married July 24, 1948 at Immaculate Conception Parish in Penacook, where he remained an active member for the rest of his life and spent many years serving on the Parish finance committee. Paul was a devout Catholic and lived his life with great faith and conviction.
Paul worked at the Tannery in Penacook, for many years. He also owned Adam's Clam Bar in Boscawen. He was involved in many groups and activities throughout his life. Paul was an active member of the Knights of Columbus through the end of his life and a long-time member of the Elks club.
Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorraine Rule Sacco, and his three children: Paul and his wife Vicki of Colorado, Peter and his wife Valerie of Concord, and Stephen and his wife Lisa of Epsom. He has four grandchildren; Timothy and his wife Natalie, Trevor, Alexandria, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by his twin sister, Mary Lamonica of Rochester, N.Y.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington Street Penacook.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Paul's life will be held Saturday, January 12, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Parish in Penacook.
Internment services will take place Monday, January 14th, at 9:30 a.m., in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery
