HILLSBORO - Richard E. Whipple Jr., 50, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer at the Hospice House in Concord.

Rick was born on Oct. 31st 1963, in Farmington, Maine. Rick was the son of Richard E. Whipple Sr. and Valerie (Hewett) Whipple, both of Starks, Maine .

Rick was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and spending time with friends, family and grandchildren. He was very active in rescuing and helping animals of all shapes and sizes to include the occasional turkey and woodpecker.

He leaves behind his wife of 16 years, Susan "Bubbles" (Czarnionka) Whipple; as well as two sons, Jacob and Trent Whipple of Maine; a daughter, Ashley Hayden of Maine; two step-sons and their wives, Aaron and Heather Torre and Lawrence and Tabitha Torre, all of Nashua; two step-daughters and their husbands, Christine and Joseph Fussell of Florida and Jill and Erick Faulkner of New Ipswich; and ex-wife, Mary Currie (mother of Jacob and Trent) of Maine. He also leaves two brothers and their wives, Bruce and Cara Whipple and Darrin and Bethany Whipple all of Maine; one sister and her husband, Charlene and Bill Pressey of Maine; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Hillsboro Baptist Church, 337 Second NH Turnpike Road, Hillsboro. Following the service there will be a luncheon at the church and all are invited to attend.
