CONCORD – Dr. Robert P. Raemsch, formerly of 24 Fairfield Drive, Concord, age 89, died on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home.

He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Jean, of 62 years, who passed away January 4, 2013.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was born on June 14, 1923, in Elkins, W. Va., the son of Wallace P. Raemsch and Maude (Joy) Raemsch. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He graduated from Cornell University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 1950. He married Jean Edwards in February 1951 in Ithaca, N.Y. He was a self-employed veterinarian for 35 years. He practiced in Albion, N.Y., for 10 years, then in Syracuse, N.Y., until retirement in 1985. He and Jean moved to Concord in 1995 to be close to their daughters and grandchildren.
Robert had an innate love for children and animals and was loved in return by all. His music was also n important part of his life. He played the trombone, participating in jazz bands, community bands and singing in choruses, church choir and barbershop.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
He is survived his children, Bruce Raemsch and his wife Ellen, of Stockton, Calif.; Andrew Raemsch and his wife Lorrie, of Taylor, Pa., Aleta Moss and her husband John of Epsom, and Betty Smith and her husband Doug of Penacook, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
