CHICHESTER - Roy Baum, 63, of Webster Mills Road died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Concord Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Concord, son of the late Cecil and Alice (Berry) Baum. He was a Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Baum was owner operator of Roy's Carpets in Chichester.

One of his greatest accomplishments, along with his wife Kathy, was establishing the Chichester Field Complex at Carpenter Park which has provided countless young ball players a place to play. He was a long time baseball coach in Chichester and Loudon coaching all levels, an avid hunter and outdoorsman and was an accomplished wood turner. He was a member of the American Legion Post 37 in Hooksett.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathy Baum; one son James Baum and his wife Renee; one expected granddaughter Lyric Rose; three sisters, Winnie Bailey, Elsie Stevens and her husband Ivan, Patricia Innie; two brothers, Arthur Baum and his wife Simone, and Larry Baum and his wife Judi.
He was predeceased by one sister, Alice Patenaude; two brothers, Robert and Chet Baum.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home 50 South Main St. Concord.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 180 Loudon Road, Concord.
