Chichester – Shirley A. Waters, 76, died on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at the Harris Hill Home in Concord.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born Oct. 6, 1936, the daughter of Edwin and Anne (Tilton) Waters. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Concord area. She worked for the state of New Hampshire as a lab scientist in the Department of Health and Human Services.
Shirley had been a longtime member of the Chichester Grange, and she served as supervisor of the voters checklist of Chichester for many years.
Shirley was a very giving person; she gave books and magazines to the library, food to the food pantry, and needed items to the Grange and other organizations in Chichester and Pittsfield. Shirley loved to see the Canadian Geese come to her pond behind her home. It gave her joy to watch the graceful blue herons and the cranes walk around the pond. She was always fond of doing things for animals.
Shirley had no living family members, but she leaves friends, especially her best friend, Sinbad her cat.
There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord, NH, followed by a funeral procession to Blossom Hill Cemetery for burial.
