BOSCAWEN – Theresa D. (Roy) Emerson, 86, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Concord Hospital, in Concord.
Mrs. Emerson was born in Penacook March 9, 1926, the daughter of the late Carlton W. and Cora I. (Noe) Roy.
She was a 35 year member of the VFW Auxiliary of Penacook and was President and District President for many years. For 23 years, she belonged to the American Legion, Unit 88, of Loudon, and was President for one year. Mrs. Emerson was a member of AARP.
She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed collecting Indian dolls and cultural items. Mrs. Emerson was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved spending time with her family, especially babysitting all of her grandchildren.
Family members include her five sons, Alfred Emerson and his partner, Glenna Riel, of Penacook, Paul Emerson and his wife, Sharon, of Webster, Donald Emerson and his wife Debra, of Boscawen, Dale Emerson and his wife Nicole, of Concord, Michael Emerson, of Concord; two daughters, Marlene Sheehan and her husband, Francis, of Concord, Pauline Willis, of Penacook; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She also leaves two friends since grade 1 of grammar school, Jane Heath of Boscawen and Dorothy Karwocki, of Penacook.
Mrs. Emerson was predeceased by her husband, Charles G. Emerson, who died in 2006. She was also predeceased by three sisters, two grandsons, one niece and one nephew.
There are no calling hours.
A committal service will be held Monday, May 14, at 11:30 a.m., at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D.W. Highway, in Boscawen.
