BOSCAWEN - Virginia M. Stickney, 83, of Boscawen, passed away peacefully December 2nd. She was surrounded by the love of her family.

Virginia was born in Norway, Maine, Dec. 4, 1929, the first of 11 children born to Roy and Alice (Bach) Millett. She attended Norway High School, Class of 1947 and graduated from NH State Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Virginia was employed by the State of NH at the NH State Hospital until her retirement in 1991.
Virginia was a member of SEA Retired Chapter 1, a member of the NH State Hospital Alumni, she was an expert at knitting and counted cross stitch. Virginia also loved to travel and do puzzles of all kinds.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Sherman Stickney; sons, Ronald Stickney and his wife, Mary Finlayson and Wayne Stickney and his wife, Katharine; daughter, Linda Quimby and her husband, Steven; granddaughters, Arielle and Mallory Stickney; sisters, Mildred Witter and Lucille Lombard; brothers, Charles Millett and Donald Millett; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, David Stickney in February, 2013; brothers, Raymond Millet, Ralph Millett, Lawrence Millett, William Millett and Robert Millett; and her sister, Kathleen Kennagh.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King St. in Boscawen. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Henry Frost will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel.
