William Faust Obituary

PITTSFIELD - William R. Faust, Sr., 74, of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 following a lengthy and courageous battle against cancer.

Bill was born in Lynn, Mass. September 21, 1937, the son of the late Valentine T. and Leona B. (Lowell) Faust. He was educated in areas schools and joined the Army National Guard shortly after graduating high school.

He owned Faust Construction 1975-1988, he was a Corrections Officer with the New Hampshire State Prison 1989-2002, and a Team Leader at Home Depot 2002-2010. He enjoyed painting and drawing, drafting, finish carpentry, building models, cribbage and gardening. He especially loved to grow roses and irises, but his favorite thing in life was time spent with his grandchildren and family.

Bill is survived by two sons, Jeff Faust of Concord and Lee Faust and his wife Jen of Pittsfield; daughter-in-law Bethany Faust of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Billy Faust of Pittsfield and Laura (Ripley) McDavitt of Concord; brother Valentine Faust of Bow; sister Nancy Martin of Tyler, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased in 2005 by his wife of 45 years, Diane Faust and by his son William Faust, Jr.

The family will receive visitors Monday, June 4th, 4 to 8 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 172 King Street in Boscawen.

His urn will be committed to the earth Tuesday, June 5th, at 1 p.m. at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 North State Street in Concord.

We are very saddened of Bill's passing and we feel blessed that we had the honor of knowing Bill. I know that he is now with Diane and Bill Jr and watching over his family. He was a wonderful man and he will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Bill
