I am very saddened to learn of Stan's passing, second to my dad, he was my best Ford buddy ever. Stan was one of the most knowlegable gearheads I've ever had the chance to meet and hang with. I am thankful for having known Stan for over 25 years. During that short quarter of a century I cherished our every meeting, from painting his parents house to hanging out in the barn amongst his treasures.
Many folks will miss him, I for one look forward to visiting him again on the other side, where I'm sure he is listening to some music and tinkering on something. Rest in peace my friend with wide open throttles.
Carol, you have our number for anything, we hope to keep in touch with you, Stan's best friend. We wish you peace and understanding during this very tough time of your life.

I knew Stan as a good friend of my son Cameron Sargent. Stan was like a mentor to Cam during his teen years at Concord High's auto shop where they shared their love of old cars. Stan was a decent, intelligent, thoughtful and generous man who created a nature preserve on his property in Bow and invited others to share it. My deepest sympathies to Carol and all his friends.

Carole, we all grieve with you. Stan was a life-long friend to many. I know he had a significant impact on my life. Certainly he inspired my interest in becoming a sports car racer and more recently an interest in getting involved with racing organizations on a leadership level. I also should credit him with inspiring my interest in classic jazz. We had had shared many good times and some great stories over the years. . . . Sad to realize that that has come to an end.

Stan once said to me "You always have time for the things you do first." I think the thing Stan did first was, be a friend. RIP my friend.

Carol:
My friendship with Stan began in 1959, soon after I purchased my first Model A. During my High School days in the early 1960's, I worked at D&H Automotive for Stan and Tom. During the times when I did not have a roadworthy car, Stan would pick me up after school and give me a ride home from work in the evening. We traveled many miles together visiting Ford Dealerships and acquiring obsolete parts to keep our old Fords running. I still have many of those "treasures" as well as my Sunbeam Tiger that was sold new by D&H to Frank Cote. Our friendship will never end- it had just entered a "more memorable" phase. I share your loss Carole.

Stan was a wonderful person, over the last 20 or so years there were many times the 4 of us(5 when Steve was home) got together and had wonderful times of fellowship over a bite to eat, or at the Antique Snowmobile museum, or just getting together for a minute to talk and laugh. I can't tell you of the many wonderful talks and laughs and how much he affected our lives in such a good way over the years, he will be very, very missed. Before George and I moved to Virginia we had the pleasure of riding around one day in the antique car of his and it will be a treasured memory. Our love and prayers go out to Carol, and family.

In my forty six year friendship with Stan I cant begin to tell you how many thousands of miles we traveled togeather, many in some very special cars at something above the posted speed limit. We went to car shows, conventions, jazz concerts and shared flea market spots at the Limerock fall festival for twenty five years. For the last few years with very few exceptions Stan and I have had breakfast every Friday morning, I think I will miss that most of all. George Bailey
