WESTWOOD, Mass. - Umberto "Al" V.C. Napoleone 93, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, in Loudon at the home of his daughter, Anna.

He was born in Boston and was a longtime resident of Westwood, Mass.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 69 years; children, Anna Carlson, Nancy and Peter Cox, Catherine and Dan Lapp, Dorrie Napoleone and Jim Fiorato, Maria Napoleone and Skip Walter; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He had a long and distinguished career in education of over 40 years, serving the Norwood, Mass. public schools for 37 years as a teacher and administrator.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army in the Persian Gulf.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 29, at 12 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., in Concord.
