PENACOOK - Rita T. Hoyt, 84, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 in her home.

Rita was born in July 1929 in Gardner, Mass., to Joseph and Eva (Drouin) L'Heureux. She moved to Concord in 1939 and has lived in Penacook for more than 70 years.
Rita was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Penacook. She enjoyed shopping with her friends and family and in the summers loved entertaining people at her pool at her home. Rita was also an avid Bingo player.
She was a homemaker for her beloved husband of 57 years, Stanley Hoyt, whom predeceased her in 2013.
Rita was also predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Hardy.
Rita is survived by her brother, Alfred L'Heureux of Peterborough, Ontario; her sisters, Theresa Beaudet of Northfield and Yvonne Thornton of Aurora, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Jan. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Raymond Potvin, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, will officiate. Internment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 9 Bonney St., Penacook, 03303; or the Penacook Rescue Squad, 1 Oak St., Boscawen, 03303.
