Mary Rose Corinne Barasso Veseskis, 89, of Concord, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.

She was born Jan. 17, 1925, in Concord, a daughter of the late Marion Barasso DiSanti neé Chataneuf and Rapheal Barasso.
While she had many jobs during her life including waitress, LNA, bank clerk, volunteer in the Foster Grandparent program and even a brief stint as a lumberjill during World War II, her main joy was being a mother and grandmother to not only her children, but to the many who "adopted" her as Mom and Grandma through the years.
She enjoyed traveling, dancing and the outdoors. Her passions were reading, learning, writing. She was a gifted poet who shared this gift with those she loved including her seven children, Peter, Lynda, James, Kenneth , Bruce, Mark, and MaryAnn; her 16 grandchildren and her 21 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Peter P. Veseskis; her brother, Robert Barasso; sister, Beverly Jedrey; and half-brother William Barasso. She is survived by one sister, Doris Gifford; and two half-sisters, Donna Musante and Debra Jameson.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at The Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., in Concord.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 28, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Reverend Terry Donovan Odell will officiate the service.
Committal prayers and interment will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery, in Concord.
