CHICHESTER – Edward P. O'Brien, "Obie", 76, of Chichester, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Concord Hospital in Concord.

Born in Danvers, Mass. on Feb. 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Edward T. and Mary L. (Grondon) O'Brien.
He grew up in Salem, Mass. and moved to Derry in the 1960s where he met his wife, Vicki L. Powers.
He was a race car driver and mechanic before joining the U.S. Navy. He later bought 56 acres of land in Chichester and built his business, Chichester Auto, from the ground up, while he continued to race.
He is loved and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sister, Marie S. Vernazzaro; his wife, Vicki L. O'Brien; his two sons, Edward T. and Patrick A. O'Brien; his daughter, Kelley R. Ravenelle and her husband, Nathan E.; and his six grandsons and one granddaughter.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church Street Chapel (The Brick Building) in Concord.
A celebration of his life will be held at the funeral home Monday, April 14, at 11 a.m. Military honors will be given at Calvary Cemetery in Concord following the services.
