Rita Margaret (Pelkey) Roach, 96, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Havenwood Heritage Heights, in Concord.

Mrs. Roach was born on Dec. 15, 1917, in Concord, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Fabiola (Renaud) Pelkey. She grew up in Concord and was a lifelong resident of Concord.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and Grace Episcopal Church, Woman's Guild. Mrs. Roach was also a member of the East Concord Garden Club and was a Girl Scout Leader. She did many volunteer hours at the state hospital.
Mrs. Roach's hobbies were sewing, braiding rugs – hooking rugs and making hand sewn quilts for her family members. She loved to travel and was known for her fabulous homemade apple pies.
Members of her family include her daughter, Robin A. Loomis and her husband, Kenneth, of Concord; sons, Donald D. Roach, and wife, Beverly, of Concord, Arthur H. Roach II of Laconia and Richard L. Roach of Manchester, Conn.; and several loved grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Arthur H. Roach I, who died in 1993; and by her two sons, Robert L. Roach and Ronald D. Roach.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be private.
Interment will take place at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, in Concord.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bennett Funeral Home, Concord, NH.
