STRAFFORD – Constance Ann Swain Jones Donaghey, 89, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her son's home in Strafford Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

She was born in Concord and taught in Concord and surrounding area schools until her retirement, after which she operated Connie's Corner in Webster for a number of years.

She and her first husband were founding members of East Concord Lamplighters. Barbershop music and family dinners were dear to her heart. She belonged to DAR and was Keene State College scribe for alumni of the class of '46. She taught at Project Second Start as an adult reading tutor.

Later in life Connie particularly loved riding in the family car, and found as much pleasure from a trip to the store as roaming the Eastern Seaboard, from Florida to Nova Scotia, with her husband, Manson.

She was an avid and devoted student of Christian Science.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Walter E. Jones; her sister, Charlotte Bowie; and her nephew, Dickie Whittington.

She leaves her husband, Manson Donaghey of Pembroke; three children, Stephen Jones and his wife, Linda, of Strafford, Clinton Jones and his wife, Anne, of Bow and Diane Hoik and her husband, John, of Hopkinton; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three nieces.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main St., Concord.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, May 19, at 11 a.m. at the NH Veterans Cemetery, DW Highway Boscawen. Pastor Harold Muzzey will officiate.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cornerstone VNA Hospice, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867.
