HILLSBORO – Scott Campbell, 53, of Hillsboro passed away June 13, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born July 1, 1960, and was the son of the late Warren Campbell and Germaine Despres.
Scott held many interests. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and the great outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. But of all of his interests, the one he cherished the most was being a great father and friend to his son Matthew.
Scott worked for years as a police dispatcher with the Hillsboro Police Department. He later worked as a residential caregiver and supervisor at Robin Hill Farm in Deering.
;Scott is survived by his son Matthew of Dade City, Fla.; his sister Francine Ojala of Winchendon, Mass.; his sister Paula Paluszek of Clearwater, Fla.; his brother Gary of Orange, Mass.; and longtime friend and "adopted" sister Linda Kaplan of Clearwater, Fla. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Warren Campbell, his mother Germaine Despres, his stepmother Arline Campbell and sister Kathleen Costello.
There will be calling hours for Scott on Thursday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holt Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Hillsboro. Services will be held Friday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maple Avenue Cemetery in Hillsboro.
