FRANKLIN – Naida Louise Ring Welch RN, 82, of Franklin, died Fridya, June 20, 2014, at Pleasant View after a long battle with complications from Diabetes.

Predeceased by her husband Howard Elwin Welch; father, Ellison Emery Ring; brother, Ellison Emory Ring; sister, Elspeth Lillian Ring; and grandmother, Lillian Maxfield Ring.
Naida was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1950 and The State Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. During her nursing career she also received certification in Nursing from the State of Connecticut in 1955. She spent the majority of her nursing career at the State of NH Hospital working in the Medical Surgical unit.
During her childhood Naida and her family spent a few years in Texas and she has fond memories of that time. After her marriage she lived in several towns in New Hamphsire, but settled in Concord where her children grew up. Moving to Franklin after her sister Elspeth died in 1990.
She loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots play. Naida enjoyed many crafts but is known for the beautiful quilts she made for family and friends. She enjoyed attending her sons and grandchildren's sports activities throughout their childhood.
Naida is survived by her daughter, Brenda Bastarache and her husband, Robert of Windsor, Conn.; son, Ellison Welch of Northfield and his wife, Julie; son, Gordon Welch of Franklin. She had two adored grandchildren, Chelsea Welch of Northfield and Riley Welch of Concord. Her beloved great-granddaughter, Madelyn of Northfield; a sister, Fay Bulcock of Manchester; sister-in-law, Shirley Guinard of Concord; brother-in-law, Warren Welch of Concord, several nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2 p.m., at the Franklin Cemetery, 31 Thompson Park in Franklin.
