James M. Crummey, 55, died Jan. 26, 2012, at Concord Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Deerfield, he has been a resident of Loudon for the past three years, previously living in Hopkinton. He was the son of John and Helen (England) Crummey. He graduated from Raymond High School, Class of 1974. Jim had been employed for more than 30 years with the state of New Hampshire Department of Transportation. Following his retirement from the state he was self employed in several different ventures including construction, maple syrup production and landscaping. He also worked for the past seven years with French and Rising Funeral Home.

Jim had a gift for working the land and raising animals of all types. He was an avid motorsports fan and participated in racing at various tracks.
He is survived by two children, Stephanie Crummey Nichols of Deerfield and Michael J. Crummey of Lancaster, two step-daughters, Brittany Dow of Stockholm, N.J., and Kelsey Dow of Boscawen, companion Gayle Baird of Loudon, five siblings; Carolyn Lavoie, Elena Sly, John Crummey, David Crummey and Sharon Ridley, and a grandson Shayne Holmes.
A memorial reception will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 5-8 p.m. at French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown. A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7295.
