WARNER - Charles S. Dziura, of Warner, pasted away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 after a two year battle with cancer. He was 82.

Born and raised in Trenton N.J., Mr. Dziura joined the U.S. Air Force (then Army Air Corp) in 1947. He proudly served his country for 20 years, traveling the world while learning, working, and teaching meteorology. After retiring from the Air Force, he joined the U.S Weather Bureau and completed two assignments in Antarctica, the first at South Pole Station, the second at Byrd Station. For his service as Meteorologist at South Pole Station, he was honored by having a mountain range named after him on the continent. Mr. Dziura later worked in the lumber industry in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire where he and his family have lived for the past 35 years. He was a proud family man, who loved working on home improvement projects, making furniture, and always seemed to keep busy with each. He had a witty sense of humor and loved to laugh with family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna (Gorgon) Dziura; his brothers Edward and his wife Eleanor, Henry, Joseph, and sister Sophie Potocki and her husband John.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Josephine (Lorden) Dziura; his four daughters Dorothy Hotin and her husband Dan of Nashua, Diane Humphrey and her husband Douglas of Andersonville, Tenn., Denise Dziura of Andersonville, Tenn., Catherine Morin and husband Richard of Manchester, son Chuck Dziura and wife Deborah of Penacook; his grandchildren April Colon and her husband Albert of Kentucky, Zachary and Emily Dziura of Penacook, Joseph Bolieiro of Manchester; his great grandchildren Brandon and Ayden Colon of Kentucky.

Calling hours will be held Monday, December 10th, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wendell J. Butt funeral home in Penacook.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 11th, at 10 a.m., at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
