HENNIKER - Michael D. Jackson, 40, of Henniker, died Friday, December 14th, 2012 in his home after a long battle with colon cancer. He was born in Stoughton, Mass., the son of Edward and Carol (Farrell) Jackson formerly of Hillsboro. He spent all of his adult life working at Michie Corporation in Henniker holding various positions throughout the years. During the winter evenings he could often be found working the chair lifts at Pats Peak in Henniker.

Mike had a love for being outdoors and often enjoyed going for walks along the trails with his family and beloved dog, Toby. He greatly enjoyed skiing with his kids and watching all of their school sporting activities. Mike hated to miss a single practice and especially games that the kids were participating in. He will always be remembered for his quick and witty sense of humor as well his contagious smile that would turn anyone's day around.

Mike was a devoted family man and cherished spending time with his wife and children. He leaves his wife Kimberly (Hauptman) Jackson of Henniker; and two children, Andrew John Jackson, 22, of Peterborough and Melina Elise Jackson, 13, of Henniker. He also leaves two brothers: Phillip and Rhonda Jackson of Milford and Mark and Joan Jackson of Methuen, Mass.; one sister: Deborah Jackson of Dracut, Mass.; father-in-law: John Hauptman of Deering; two brother-in-laws: Kenneth and Johanna Hauptman of Henniker and Brad and Amy Hauptman of Hillsboro; one niece: Abigail; three nephews: Scott, Ethan and Caleb. He has several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins as well as friends who he considered part of the family.

He is predeceased by his parents Edward (1996) and Carol Jackson (1990) as well as his "almost favorite" mother-in-law Cynthia (Blaisdell) Hauptman (2011).

Calling Hours will be Saturday, December 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, 19 Hall Ave, Henniker.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 16, at 2 p.m., at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 158 Old West Hopkinton Rd, Henniker. Interment will follow in the Henniker Cemetery.
