BEDFORD – Tina-Marie P. Stevens, age 40, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Bedford Hills Rehabilitation Center, her home for a little over the past three years. She died of ongoing health problems related to her diabetes.

Tina-Marie was born on Jan. 7, 1972, in Medford, Mass., to Alexis and Diane (Stearns) Palmacci. She had two siblings, Andrea Christensen and Joe Palmacci, and more importantly, a daughter, Stephanie Stevens.

Tina-Marie was a very loving, caring, giving, talented, hard-working person. She had many struggles in her life, but chose to persevere and make the most of her life. She was a survivor, and when she set her mind to something she didn't let much get in her way. She made it through a tough childhood, and graduated from Merrimack Valley High School even though she missed so many days due to sickness. She was sick most of her life, but always seemed to bounce back quickly.

Tina-Marie had an incredible voice. Even after having her tonsils removed, a couple days later she sang in a band. Crafts, cooking and baking were some of her favorite things to do.

The one ambition in Tina-Marie's life was to bring a child into this world. Doctors and nurses all stressed the need to terminate her one and only baby, but she would rather give her own life to make sure her baby was born. Now, Stephanie, after beating the odds herself weighing only 1 pound 12 oz at birth, is now a healthy 11-year-old. She has inherited her mother's strength, spunk and tenacity, among other things. I know she will make her mom proud.

Tina-Marie will be missed greatly.

A calling hour will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St., Concord (GPS – 3 Church St.), with a service to be held at 1:30 p.m. A funeral procession will follow to Blossom Hill Cemetery.
