Donald Joseph Robb, 68, and his beloved wife, Brenda Mary (Kennedy) Robb, 62, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 27, 2013 in a car accident.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Brenda was the daughter of the late Kevin and Joan (Hendry) Kennedy.

Born in Pittsfield, Donald was the son of the late Michael and Madeline (Shallow) Robb.

Long time residents of Concord, Don and Brenda will be remembered as selfless, caring people who were devoted to each other, their family, and to those less fortunate. Together, Don and Brenda made life an adventure. They had one passion that surpassed all others which illuminated their lives with infinite love and joy, their granddaughters, Pearl and Ella Scaggs. Whether snuggling in bed or serving cookies at the City Auditorium, Ella and Pearl were the light of their lives. Loving husband and wife, father and mother, grandfather and grandmother, brother and sister, uncle and aunt, and friend, they will be deeply missed by all who knew them.

Donald was employed as a Sergeant at the State Prison from 1974 to 1999 prior to retirement. A humble man, Don never boasted that he was the best pitcher in the Concord Men's Softball League, even at the age of 68. In his spare time, Don enjoyed playing golf and relished in the camaraderie of his many friends. A kind soul, Don truly embodied love, kindness, and honor as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Brenda was employed as a reading specialist at Rundlett Middle School for many years and touched the lives of many young students. She was also employed by the Philbrick School at the State Hospital from 1973 to 1984. Following retirement, she developed a passion for crafts of all kinds. She also worked part time at Michael's to fuel her passion. A caring and giving individual, she spent her spare time volunteering at CareNet and the Women's Crisis Hotline and Shelter as well as various homeless shelters around Concord.

Donald and Brenda are survived by their two children, Michael Robb and his wife Melissa of Concord; and daughter Erin Scaggs, her husband Jason and their children Ella Joan and Pearl Brenn Scaggs of Chesterfield.
