PENACOOK - Joan (Corbeil) Hubbard, age 59, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at her home on River Road in Penacook, surrounded by her loving family.

Joan was born in Cohoes, N.Y., the daughter of the late Richard and Joan (Hildreth) Corbeil. Joan was a graduate of NHTI Community College in Concord, and worked for several non-profit organizations in the Concord community, including the League of NH Craftsmen, NFI North, Inc., and the Community Services Council. Later in life, Joan took up a career in nursing and worked for several years as a staff nurse at Concord Hospital. Joan was awarded the Clint Jones Nursing Award in 2009 by the Foundation for Healthy Communities for her exceptional commitment to high-quality patient care and to the nursing profession.
Joan is survived by her husband of 29 years, Freeland Hubbard of Penacook; her three children, Robert Couch of Boscawen, Amy Mathison of Pennsburg, Pa., and Freeland Hubbard III of Penacook; three grandchildren, Lilyth and Penelope Mathison, and Luna Hubbard; and five siblings, Anne Josselyn, Richard Corbeil, Patty Schermerhorn, Michael Clifford, and Christine Clifford.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, February 23, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, immediately followed by a service honoring Joan's life officiated by Rev. Terry Donovan Odell.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in Joan's memory, to the NHTI Nursing Scholarship Fund, 31 College Drive, Concord, NH 03301.
