Gary Frank Crosby, 60, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in the comfort of his Florida home with his family by his side. Gary was born September 20, 1952 in Danvers, Mass. to his parents John Arthur Crosby and Mae Frances Cottle. He was the youngest of seven children. He attended and graduated from Beverly High School and really enjoyed living near the ocean on the North Shore. As he got older, he moved to the Concord, area where he put his compassion for others to work. He became a counselor and worked for many years at both the NH Department of Health and Human Services and a private non-profit, NFI North, Inc., providing support and guidance to at risk teenagers and adults.

Gary had several hobbies and interests such as music, motorcycles, making custom carved leather products and playing guitar. In his later years, he moved to Florida where he enjoyed being near the ocean and warm weather. He had the brightest smile and loved to tell stories, camp outdoors and most importantly, listen to the oldies. He could name every song and artist as a song played on the radio. He always bragged that his greatest accomplishment was his daughter, Carol. She meant the world to him and he was very proud of her.

Gary is survived by his wife, Darlene Crosby; his daughters Carol Lizotte of New Hampshire, Michelle LaChapelle of Florida, Penny LaPlante and Charlene Cassidy both of New Hampshire; his son John Daniels, Jr., of New Hampshire; his sisters Nancy Burke, Joanne King, and Pamela Landry all of Massachusetts; his brother's Richard Crosby of Arizona, Brian Crosby of Rhode Island; numerous nieces and nephews; 16 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many close personal friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and eldest brother John (Jack) Arthur Crosby Jr.

Gary was truly a gentle giant to all that knew him. He loved his family, friends and his three dogs. He was a warm hearted and loving man that enjoyed making people laugh and spent much of his life enjoying the moment. He was a dedicated husband, caring father and loyal friend. Gary had a tattoo of a special quote on his back that is fitting for this occasion. "Make yourself familiar with the angels and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you always."

A celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
