PEMBROKE - Donald Rhodes Niswander, 56, of Pembroke, died after a courageous battle with cancer Sunday, June 16, 2013. Born to Dr. G. Donald Niswander and Patricia D. Niswander on Oct. 16, 1956 in Concord, he graduated from Concord High School in 1974.

He worked in the home construction and remodeling business, starting his own company Littlebrook Builders in 1982.
Donald loved sports as a participant or spectator. He coached his children in baseball and softball. He loved fishing, the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. He was best known for his sense of humor, and his love of life and all of the people who surrounded him.
He leaves behind his wife, Ethel D. of 33 years; his daughter, Andrea Klein and son-in-law Nicholas Klein of Columbus, Ohio; his son, Donald Vincent of Manchester; his four grandchildren, Madeline Klein, Ruby Klein, Kaiden Niswander and Kara Niswander; his mother, Patricia D. Niswander; his three sisters, Susan Skarp of Jacksonville, Fla., Ann LaPlaca of Oldsmar, Fla. and Patricia Niswander of Franklin; and brother Geoffrey of Warner, and lots of other loving family members and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald's honor can be made to The Jimmy Fund or to The Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire.
A celebration of Donald's life will be held at a later date.
