HENNIKER – George F. Howe Sr., 86, of Henniker, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014.

George was born March 10, 1927, in Sanbornton, to the late Harold and Nina (Blaisdell) Howe, and was also predeceased by his son, Wayne E. Howe, who dIed in 2009.
He worked in the Lumber Industry, He logged with Hugh Fifield and his team of horses. George had a very special friend like a brother that he worked with John Selmer. He worked at Alex Bolens Sawmill.
He enjoyed the outdoors and went hunting and fishing anytime he could. He always took care of his garden, and loved spending time with his family. George also served in the Army during World War II.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce (Hoyt) Howe, of Henniker; one son, George F. Howe Jr. and his wife, Crystal, of Henniker; one daughter, Carol A. Desmarais and her husband, George H., of Manchester; two grandsons, Jason D. Desmarais and his wife, Tiffiny and George R. Desmarais and his wife, Jennifer; one granddaughter, Jamie L. Howe; and also five great-grandchildren.
At his request there will be no calling hours.
Spring graveside services will be in the Henniker, New Cemetery, Henniker.
