Patricia Marie Thomas Sept. 28, 1926~Apr. 9, 2013 Long time resident of Martinez Patricia at was born in Greeley, Colorado to Carl and Marie Rydberg the second of four children. She attended a one room school, Bracewell, until she was 16 and then moved into the city of Greeley to attend Colorado State Teachers College. She met her husband, Gene Thomas, during college. They were married for 32 years until his death in 1980. They settled in Martinez, California where they raised a family and she lived for over 50 years. She worked for many years at the John Muir Historic Site. She was an active member of the community, involved with St. Catherine's School, Friends of the Library, American Association of University Women, The Singing Messengers among other organizations. Throughout her life she enjoyed the out of doors,-especially the Colorado Rockies and the East Bay parks. She was a talented pianist and enjoyed singing in community and church choirs. She also enjoyed playing bridge and later in life was a well known cheater at solitaire. Pat is survived by her three children, Steve Thomas of Davis, GA; Elise Thomas (Paul Radosevich) of El Cerrito, CA and Barbara Thomas of Martinez and three grandchildren, Jeana Radosevich, 'Mira Radosevich and Molly Radosevich. Funeral service will be at Christ the King church in Pleasant Hill, CA on May 8 at 11am. Memorial donations can be made to Muir Heritage Land Trust or National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
