Fioretti, LaJeanne - San Francisco
LaJeanne Fioretti Aug. 26, 1931 - Apr. 19, 2015 Walnut Creek LaJeanne Marie Fioretti, age 83, died in Walnut Creek, Sunday April 19, 2015 of natural causes. She is survived by her four children: Stephen Fioretti, Lynn Fitzpatrick, Mark Fioretti, and Melanie Fries. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Sean, Alexa, Alex, Christian, Lucas, Charlie, Max, Emma, Mia, and Olivia. Born of Swedish descent, LaJeanne and her twin LaVonne, the daughters of LeRoy and Gladys Erickson, were born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 26, 1931. While visiting her twin in San Francisco LaJeanne met her future husband Renzo Fioretti. They lived in San Francisco and had their first son Stephen, then moved to Orinda via Walnut Creek and had three more children. Busy raising four kids she still had time, with inspiration from her new Italian family, to become an amazing cook. Gnocchi with tomato and rosemary, osso buco, asparagus with fried eggs and burnt butter sauce, and garlic rosemary chicken were some of her signature dishes. The kitchen really was the heartbeat of the Fioretti home. She worked at "The Lazy K House" in Lafayette for over 20 years, selling indoor and outdoor home furnishings. Her home was beautiful inside and out and was the gathering place for many holiday celebrations and memories. Many of these memories included Christmas with LaVonne's family also known as "the kissing cousins." The twins were inseparable throughout their lives as were their families. LaJeanne loved to travel. She also enjoyed golf and gardening. She especially loved her grandchildren, always doting and always asking about them. "Nana" never missed a birthday or a special event. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30th at the Church of Santa Maria, 40 Santa Maria Way, Orinda, CA 94563. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 531313, Henderson, NV 89053, or at www.eyesight.org .
