Albert Sherman passed away on Monday after a valiant fight with Arterial and Pulmonary illnesses. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit, positive outlook, and ingenious humor.
Albert Sherman was born in Lakewood NY, grew up in Middletown Ohio, and graduated from Miami University in Oxford Ohio. He served in WWII, Captaining a B24 bomber, flying missions in Italy and Germany. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Medal with 5 Bronze Stars and the Air Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters.
Albert married Miami student Rosemary McQuaid on June 1946. They moved to Boston, MA where Albert received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1948. They moved between California and Pennsylvania homes while Albert managed multiple operations for US Steel and later, Marwais Steel till he retired in 1992.
Albert had a passion for life, family, and friends. He and Rosemary traveled extensively, fostering friendships across the globe that would last through his lifetime. He was a prolific artist for half a century using pastel, watercolor, and photographic media. Albert enjoyed pursuing his interests in world business and political affairs.
Albert is survived by his wife, Rosemary of 67 years: devoted children Sandy Watkinson(John) of Eugene OR, Patricia Sherman of Baltimore MD, Dave Sherman (Barbara) of Pittsburgh, PA and Mary Sherman Bogdan (Frank) of Baltimore MD and grandchildren, Erin, Kate, Kara, Megan, Ken and great grandchild Lewis. Albert was a kind, loving, generous, punster. A Gentleman, who will be missed by all who knew him.
