Bob died peacefully at home, after a courageous battle with cancer while surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico and graduated from Saint Michael's High School. He joined the Navy in 1959 and served in the Vietnam War on the Destroyer USS Turner Joy. Bob moved to San Francisco in 1964 and worked for Westinghouse, Mitsubishi and Schindler Elevator Companies. In addition, he worked for the State of California as an engineer in the elevator division.
Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara, and son Robert (Laurie), his daughter Amy Gillum (James) and grandchildren Jake and Kate. He is also survived by his mother, Julia, brothers Eli (Joan) and Samuel (Johanna), and sister, Linda Qualls (Wess). Bob had a close extended family and many friends who loved him.
Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral mass Thursday, March 7, at 10:30a.m. at Saint John Vianney Church in Walnut Creek.
