Frank died peacefully in his home with his loving family nearby at age 82 after a gallant fight with cancer.
Frank was born in San Francisco and graduated from San Francisco State University and Stanford University. He served as an Army officer in the Korean War, retiring from the Army reserves in 1971. Frank spent his career in education as a history teacher, counselor, vice-principal, and principal with most of his time at Alhambra High School in Martinez.
His passions included skiing and tennis. He served as a member and in key leadership positions in the Martinez Kiwanis Club for over 42 years. His involvement with the Kiwanis "Warm Coats" program was dearest to his heart, having delivered over 8,000 coats. In 2010 he and wife represented the Martinez Kiwanis Club at John Muir's birthplace in Dunbar, Scotland. Frank was a member of both the Martinez and John Muir Historical Societies. In 2011, the Martinez Chamber of Commerce honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteerism. Frank is survived by his wife Carol of 47 years; son Frank; daughters Marie Campbell (Roy), Lisa Hess (Dave), Heather Bohn (Chris); and grandchildren Jason and Lindsey Lipp, Caitlin Walsh, Zachary and Tyler Bohn, and Daniel Hess.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Congregational Church, 1229 Court St, Martinez, CA 94553 on July 18, 2014 at 1:30pm.
