Gilbert Oliver

Gilbert V. Oliver, D.M.D. Apr. 2, 1929 ~ Sept. 7, 2013 Resident of Walnut Creek Gil passed away peacefully at home on Saturday after a short battle with multiple myeloma. He was surrounded by his loving family. Gil was born in Tillamook, Oregon, and graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland, Oregon. He then attended and graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The Dental School at the University of Oregon. After service in the United States Air Force, he took graduate training in Periodontics at the University of Washington. He had a successful practice in periodontics in the Richmond/Pinole area until April of this year. Gil is survived by his loving wife, Ann, his devoted children, Douglas E. Oliver, D.D.S., of Mill Valley, Megan Hall (John Alejos) of Santa Rosa, and Andrew Oliver (Lisa) of Lafayette and his two children from his blended family, Darren Cooke (Julie) of Orinda, and Janelle McGahuey (Pat) of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He adored his grandchildren, Erin, Colin and Katelyn Hall, Tilden and Jackson Oliver, Keaton Oliver, Elsa Cooke, and Aileen and Matt McGahuey. He touched so many lives with his kindness, love and generosity. We will celebrate his life on Friday, September 13, at 6pm at the Lafayette Veterans Hall, 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette.
