Jerry Goldsmith, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Born in Amarillo, Texas and
resided until he moved to California to live with his mother at age 9. Jerry graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord and went on to join the Navy. Having served in Alaska and during Vietnam served on the USS Constellation as a fireman. After discharge from the navy he went on to work as a fireman for the Alameda Naval Air Station, then later retired from Mare Island Fire Dept. After serving many years he retired in February of 1994. In his retirement he enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his Father, CT Goldsmith of Amarillo, TX and Mother Patricia Harmon and Step father Ronald Harmon of Concord, CA.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon Goldsmith. His sons Gregory Marenger and Darryl Marenger (Laura). Daughters Robin Goldsmith and Carrie Goldsmith Hale (JR Hale) Son in law.
Grandchildren: Christina Stephens (Jere), Nicole and Jessica Schwartenberger. Randi Lynn Goldsmith,
Justin Marenger. Akicita Hale. Siblings: Mike Goldsmith (Patti) Rick Goldsmith, Kenneth Goldsmith, Carla Smith (Scott) and Jackie Harmon.. Mother in Law Phyliss Lee, Sister-in Law Carol Baugh (Jim) many nieces and nephews and dear friend Jackie Woolley.
Friends and family are invited for a visitation Tuesday, Feb 5, 2013 from 5 to 9 PM; Funeral Services Wed., Feb. 6, 2013 at 11 :00 AM at Oakmont Memorial Park. If you wish to donate to charity, please make it to the Concord Moose Lodge #567, 1805 Broadway St., Concord, CA 94520.
