Jessie M. Corral passed away peacefully on November 17, 2012. Born in Mexico on June 27, 1918. She was 5 years old when she came to the United States. Jessie was the eldest of five sisters born to Vicente and Delfina Martinez. Jessie married David Corral in 1940. They never had children, but had many nieces and nephews and several God-children. Dave was drafted into the army early in their marriage. Jessie started working when she 16 at the Cardinet Candy Company in Oakland remained there until she retired. Among Jessie's many pass times and pleasures was the love of camping and being in the country. Jessie and Dave built a cabin in Pioneer, California and enjoyed many happy times and treasured moments together in the "mountains". She traveled a lot with her beloved husband throughout California. Dave passed away in 2004.Jessie loved cooking, gardening, square dancing and hosting grand parties for family and friends at her home on 83rd avenue in Oakland. She cherished her home and lived there until her move to Pleasanton. Jessie was the matriarch and "grand Lady" of the family. She was well loved for her giving heart and happy smiling personality. She leaves behind her younger four sisters, Pat Longoria, Delfina Perez, Connie Alvarez and Clo Partida. Also brothers-in-law Benigno Longoria and Dick Partida. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Parkview Assisted Living Memory Care facility in Pleasanton for the loving, compassionate care they gave to Jessie. Also to the professional staff at the Pleasanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Visitation begins Sunday 11/25/2012 Noon to 6:00 P.M. at Santos-Robinson Mortuary 160 Estudillo Ave. San Leandro with the Vigil Service commencing at 4:00 P.M. The funeral procession will leave the mortuary on Monday at 10:00 A.M. to be at St. Leander church for the Funeral Liturgy celebrating her life commencing at 10:30 A.M. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Oakland.
