Joan Borden Fusselman(1936 - 2014)

Joan Borden Fusselman
December 1, 1936-March 5, 2014
Resident of Alamo
Joan was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Richard and Agnes Farrell. She was the oldest of 3 sisters, Marjorie (James Galbraith) and Dorothy (nephew, Jarrod Edwards). They immigrated to the USA and she became
a naturalized citizen. Joan met and fell in love with her beloved Perry in Prescott, Arizona and they were married on December 17, 1954. They had 2 sons, Richard (1973) and Kenneth. She also had 2 grandchildren, Marci (2004)
and Michael (Ken & Susan). Joan was a devoted and loving wife and homemaker till Perry passed away on June 22, 1997. A big part of Joan died the day he left her side. The last 17 years have been difficult and lonely, but she did have the support of her loving son, Ken, her "adopted daughter" and friend, Denise Heaston, nephew, Terry Heitzman, and caregiver and friend, Ruth Tjom. Joan did get comfort and a feeling of purpose in caring for her many cats and animal friends.
She was also very generous to numerous charities, family and friends. Yesterday, March 5th , a "grand" reunion took place in Heaven when she returned to the arms of her dear Perry, the place she longed to be.
There will be a "private family" internment and a
"remembrance gathering" at a later date.
If you wish to honor Joan's memory in a way that
would be special to her, please make a donation
to your favorite animal charity or ARF or The SPCA.
We all know how much she loved her cats.
