Joe Gordon Resident of Walnut Creek After a brief illness, our dear sweet brother Joe went home to the Lord on January 31, 2014. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Louis Equi, Elsa Equi, Lewis Gordon, Anna Gordon, his parents Robert Gordon and Genelda Gordon (nee Equi). He is deeply mourned by his family; sister Jeanine Gordon Sipes (Donn), brothers Robert (Eileen) and Louis (Jennifer Doran), nieces and nephews Jennifer, David, Timothy, Kelly, Megan, Paul and Katylin. Joe was a third generation San Franciscan born at Stanford Hospital which through a number of changes became Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in 1983. He attended Holy Angels and Riordan where he retained a great number of good friends even after moving to Walnut Creek over 20 years ago. He was also a lifelong employee of Pacific Gas and Electric and retired from there in 2010. He was still very close to many of his former co-workers and regularly met with many of them to share a meal and have a laugh. Joe got his pilots license and for a while it was one of the many pleasures of his life. Joe loved to cook for others and was famous for his parties, especially his reproduction of the famous "Blum's Crunch Cake". The crunch cake was featured at many family parties and a favorite of his mother and grandmother. Joe loved to travel with friends to visit craft fairs all around the area and over the years collected a vast number of artistic items from wherever he went. Joe was also an extremely capable remodeler. He not only worked on his own home but also his family and friends depended on his many talents. But most of all Joe was loved by all who knew him. Everyone wanted him to be part of their family. They will never know how extremely wonderful it was to actually be Joe's family and how deep our loss is. He was taken from us much too soon. God speed. Friends and family may visit Monday February 10, 2014 from 4-9pm and are invited to attend the Vigil Service at 7pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at Holy Angels Church, 107 San Pedro Rd, Colma.
