John S. Pulos Sr. passed away surrounded by his family on July 8, 2013. Born in Richmond on Nov. 16, 1921, John served his country in World War II. He has a great passion for the game of golf. He was a founding member of the Crow Canyon Country Club and is one of a few recreational golfers with 5 "Holes in one!" He enjoyed retirement after many years working for Alameda County.
John is survived by his loving wife, Helen; devoted children John Jr., Joanne Perry (Kevin); grandchildren James, Justin and Allie; brother Tom and many nieces, nephews and loved family members.
A Trisagion service will begin at 7PM on July 10, 2013 preceded by visitation at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension 4700 Lincoln Ave., Oakland, CA 94602. A funeral service will follow on Thursday July 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cathedral. Interment to follow at Oakmont Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either Vitas Innovative Hospice Care or the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension.
