Joseph Prevetz

Joseph Matthew Prevetz
July 5, 1950 to November 16, 2012
Pleasant Hill, California
Born in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Our beloved brother Joe was an avid Minimalist, gardener and bird-lover. Joe graduated Pleasant Hill High 1968 where he excelled in basketball and football, earning a football scholarship to Brigham Young University. He moved to the Island of Hawaii where he developed a love of growing things and dreamed of returning one day.
Joe came home to the Bay Area in the early 2000's after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis to be closer to his family. He lived independently in Pleasant Hill where he created his own tropical sanctuary, in a supportive, caring community.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank; survived by his mother, Patricia, and siblings Patty Eames (Steve), Mary Prevetz, Michael Prevetz (Cindy), Peggy Cook (Gus), Terry Prevetz-Carden (Phil), and John Prevetz.
Friends are invited to celebrate Joe's life at Chilpancingo Vista, 102 Chilpancingo Pkwy, P.H., on Saturday November 24th from 3-6pm.
