Resident of Antioch
Nello was a long time resident of Antioch. He was born at Sherman Island, CA and was the youngest child of Guiseppe (JG) and Mary Novero Baldocchi. He graduated from Antioch High School in 1942 where he was on the track and football teams. Nello began a lifetime of farming with his family on Sherman and Victoria Islands, Veale, Orwood, Holland and Baird Tracts, Clifton Court, and Western Farms.
Nello was a member of the Elks Lodge 1474, Sons of Italy, and Antioch Historical Society Museum/Sports Legends. He loved his Lionel trains, playing Bocce ball and cards, traveling, the 49'ers, SF Giants, NASCAR, his antique trucks and El Caminos.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 39 years, Diane Baldocchi, previous wife of 13 years, Beatrice Baldocchi (Pecha), parents, Guiseppe and Mary Baldocchi, sister, Louisa Galli, brothers, Armando and Guido Baldocchi.
Nello leaves us a legacy of love, kindness and caring for his family, friends and with everyone whom he met. He is survived and will be missed by his children: Diana (Larry) Kaiser, St. Augustine, FL, Joanne (Robert) Wilkerson, Antioch, Kathryn (Daniel) Allison, Pleasanton, Dan Baldocchi, Elk Grove and Mary (Robert) White, Flagstaff, AZ, his 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, in-laws, Trudy (Bob) Durden, Las Vegas, NV, and Robert (Peggy ) Huffman, Redwood Valley, CA, and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thurs. Jan. 24th at 10 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1313 A St., Antioch with Fr. Vicente officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed Wed Jan. 23rd from 4 to 7 PM at Higgins Mortuary, 1310 A St., Antioch, followed by a 7 PM Rosary service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Antioch Historical Society Museum/Sports Legends, 1500 W. Fourth St. Antioch or to .
