Patty Sue Kerr

Patty Sue (Pat) Kerr June 24, 1933 ~ Nov. 26, 2012 Resident of Orinda Pat passed away peacefully as she entered heaven on November 26, 2012 after a short illness. Patty Sue Pace was born to Thomas and Marie Pace in Commerce, Oklahoma. Along with her parents, two sisters, and brother, she spent her childhood years in a mining town in Oklahoma before moving to a ranch in Modesto, California. Pat was raised as a Southern Baptist and attended Presbyterian churches in her adult years. She met the love of her life, John Edward Kerr, at a dance in Oakland when Jack picked up her shawl that had slipped off. The two married in 1956. Pat and Jack raised their sons, Gary and Kevin, in Walnut Creek, where Pat made lifelong friends, taught preschool, and was a leader in Bible Study Fellowship. After their sons had grown, Pat and Jack lived in Connecticut for several years where they enjoyed their lives, new friends, and entertaining old friends who came to visit. They returned to California in 1983 and settled in Orinda in 1993. Pat was recently preceded in death by her son, Gary Kerr of Lake Oswego, Oregon, her sister, Barbara Miller of Carmichael, California, and her niece, Kimberly Miller also of Carmichael. She is survived by her husband, John, son Kevin Kerr and his wife Kelly of San Ramon, grandson Andy Kerr and his wife Kelly of San Francisco, Andy's mother, Carol Kerr of Orinda, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Kerr of Pacific Palisades, California.
