Piero (Pete) Grelli
Sept. 28, 1934-Aug. 5, 2013
Resident of Concord
Beloved Husband, Father, and Nonno passed away on August 5, 2013. Born in Frontone, Italy, on September 28, 1934 to Angelo and Pasquina Grelli. Proceeded in death by his sister, Yolanda (Elzo) Grelli. He leaves behind his loving wife, Clara, sons, Gary (Tina) Grelli and Mark (Linda) Grelli, and his most beloved grandsons, Nicolo, Marco, and Gino. Piero will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
Piero immigrated to the United States when he was 15. He served as an American Army Reservist and in active duty ('53-'57). Together with his wife, he raised his family in San Francisco, working 34 years as a Garbage Man and partner of Golden Gate Disposal Company. After many procedures at John Muir Hospital, he began volunteering there, telling jokes to the patients as he wheeled them around the hospital. Nonno Pete was an avid bowler and loved to "coach" his grandsons and their friends. His smile and good humor will be missed by all.
A Memorial was held on August 16, 2013, to celebrate his life and his legacy. Donations can be in his name to the John Muir Medical Health Foundation.
