Richard Donald Mollberg, a long time resident of Lafayette, CA, passed away due to complications from a hit and run accident in November 2011. His generous, loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
He was born in San Francisco. CA and earned a degree in Pharmacy at Idaho State University. He attended Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine where he received a medical degree. He was a Board Certified Podiatric Surgeon and had a private practice in Concord, CA for 35 years. He was a staff member at John Muir Medical Center, a member of the California Podiatric Medical Association, and a member of the Alameda/Contra Costa Podiatric Medical Associaiton. He served in the Army
Reserves. Richard was a member of the Antique Military Association and a member of the Orinda Road Runners. His hobbies included running and World War II
radio communication. He had his Ham Radio license since he was a teenager and operating his radios was a favorite pastime.
He embraced and shared education on all topics and was always there to help people in need. He was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by:His loving wife Jean Mollberg, children Sgt. Ryan Mollberg and Drake Mollberg, daughter-in-law Amanda Mollberg, and grandchildren Gabriela-Anne and Griffin Rikard Mollberg.
Services are private and a celebration of life reception will be held April 6th, 2013. Donations may be made in his memory to the
