Sally Kachigian Martirani entered peacefully into rest in Walnut Creek on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was 83 years of age. Born in Fresno, California on April 7, 1929, Sally was a longtime parishioner of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and was devoted to her faith. Known for her adventurous spirit and fierce determination, she had a great zest for life. She worked overseas, where she met married her husband Pasquale in Italy. She traveled extensively, enjoyed cruises and visited her beloved country of Armenia a few times. Her lifelong love of the Hawaiian islands included many trips and a passion for hula, both teaching and performing. She was happiest though when surrounded by loved ones and close friends enjoying a good meal together, often cooked deliciously by her. Sally will be truly missed by all who knew her. Sally is survived by her beloved husband, Pasquale Martirani, her devoted daughter, Stephanie Martirani, nephew Gene Golobic and niece Marilyn Leidner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sahag and Nazly Kachigian, sisters Rose Golobic and Margaret Moore and brother Kach Kachigian. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 12th, 2012 at 10:30 am at. St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Bay Area Friends of Armenia, P.O. Box 3584, Daly City, CA 94015 www.bafa.org.
