Stan Greenspan passed away on May 2 at the age of 81 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Stan was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the US Navy
during the Korean War
. He received a bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara and a master's degree from San Francisco State. Stan is survived by Sally, his loving wife of 56 years; son Steven and his wife Denise; daughter Suzanne and her husband Mark; daughter Sheri; grandchildren Jennifer, Benjamin, and Melanie; and brother Donald. Stan influenced many lives throughout his 35-year career in education. He was recognized for creating vocational education programs for the developmentally disabled. Stan enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, cooking, and ocean cruises. He also loved caring for his dogs and completing the daily crossword puzzles. Stan will be interred at a private ceremony at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. A celebration of Stan's life will be held at the family home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or The Parkinson's Institute.
