Vida Bihm LeSage July 12, 1923 ~ September 25, 2013 Resident of Walnut Creek Vida Bihm LeSage passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the presence of her loving husband, Edward. Those who loved and knew her over her long life will dearly miss her. Daughter of William and Lorena (Forest) Bihm, Vida was born in Palmetto, Louisiana. She graduated from Melville High School in St. Landry Parish with a scholarship to Louisiana State University
; unable to attend college she worked for the USO during the ensuing war years. At war's end she married Edward C. LeSage, her husband for life, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a longtime East Bay resident, living briefly in Oakland and subsequently in Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek. Vida was a devoted and caring mother to her three sons: Edward, William, and Paul. Her pastime enthusiasms included recreational cooking and shopping for thrift treasures. She had a quick wit and enjoyed irony much to the delight of those close to her. Vida volunteered for community organizations and was especially dedicated to aiding seniors and the infirm. Vida survived her siblings (Joseph C. Bihm, Vella Bihm Rutledge, Nina Bihm Persick, Lindsey Skeet Bihm, and Betty Bihm Johnson). Her husband Edward and three sons, five grandchildren (Julia LeSage Reiff, Jinelle LeSage LeWright, and Phillip, Jaclyn and Nicholas LeSage), two great-grandchildren (Eleanor and Margaret Reiff), and her daughters-in-law (Alicia LeSage and Deborah Dancik) survive her. The LeSage family extends its gratitude to staff of Grace Healthcare of Pleasant Hill for the care they provided to Vida during her four years at their facility.
