Vincent A. Middleton
July 27, 1923 - June 22, 2013
Resident of Danville
Loving brother, husband, father, and devoted walker. Vince was born and raised in New York City along with his brothers Jack and Joe, and his sister Marie.
In January 1943 Vince joined the armed forces to serve his country in World War II. In June 1944 Vince landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy with the 821st Tank Destroyers. He fought through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, returning home on Christmas Day 1945.
After the war, Vince continued his education at St. John's University in New York, graduating with a BBA in 1948. In that same year he met his bride to be, Mary Lehane, at Rockaway Beach. They were married in September 1950, and soon started a family. Vince had a long successful career in sales, befitting a man who loved interacting with people and telling a good joke. He enjoyed life, especially spending time with the family he dearly loved, telling stories of the old days, traveling, and taking a good nap. He took particular joy in his daily walks, chatting with all his friends in his Greenbrook neighborhood.
Vince is survived by his children Vincent (Denise), Michael, Kathy (Tom), Maureen (Paul), Nancy and Mark. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary, and his son Lawrence. A memorial service will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church in San Ramon on Sat. July 27 at 1:00 p.m.
