Vince was born to June O'Toole and husband Jacob Murz in Unity, Pa., the eldest of 2 sons. Vince was raised by Oscar Granberg when June remarried. Vince enlisted in the army
at the age of sixteen and served in the US Army Corps of Engineers in the Berlin Airlift. He married Elizabeth Weideman in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and their son Vincent was born there. Upon returning to the United States, he enlisted in the US Navy
and served from 1950 to 1954. He served on the USS EssexCVA-9, during the Korean War
with his brother Bill, earning 4 Battle Stars. He also served on the USS Franklin RooseveltCVA42. Upon returning to Concord he worked at the Concord Naval Weapons Station and PG&E. He joined the Concord Police Department as a patrolman and was promoted to Inspector. He proudly wore badge #20. He was past President of the California Check Investigators Assn., retiring in 1987. He married Diane Green of Walnut Creek after the death of Elizabeth, and moved to Sun City, Az. They enjoyed a very full and happy retirement. They traveled extensively in the US, Canada, and Europe.
He enjoyed golf, RV ing, stained glass, stamp collecting, working in the community garden at Sun City, and outings with their many friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, wife Elizabeth, and brother William.
He is survived by his wife Diane, son Vincent(Penny) and granddaughter Katie, Diane's children and grandchildren and many, many friends.
