Warren Bohanna Carnes passed away on Wednesday, 27th of Febuary, 2013 at 8:30 pm, after a long battle with diabetes and a congestive heart condition. His generosity, positive attitude and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Born in Lancaster, South Carolina, he joined the Navy at age 18, when WW II broke out. After serving in the U. S. Navy, Warren enjoyed a career as a professional painter and was the representative of the Union Local 127 for five years. He formed his own painting business and retired at the age of 65. He frequented the Antioch Senior Center spending time playing cards with his friends. Warren is survived by his wife, Nimfa and children, Caroline and Renee and stepchildren, Ana, Rose, Stella, Michael and Stephanie. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean and Wanda Kate and brother, Burgoone, as well as, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Warren was preceeded in death by his daughter, Nadine; son-in-law, Junior ( husband of Caroline); stepdaughter, Cristina Marie; brothers, Jack, Jim and Ernest; and sister, Lee Grey. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, March 08, 2013 from 5 to 9 pm at Higgins Chapel 1310 A Street, Antioch. Funeral Service is Saturday, March 09, at 11 am after a one hour visitation starting at 10 am, at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church at 3351 Contra Loma Boulevard. Reception to follow at Sizzler's Restaurant, 2709 Hillcrest Ave., Antioch.
