William Billo passed away peacefully on the morning of October 18, at the age of 93. Bill was born Apr. 15, 1920 in Detroit, MI to the late Helen and Frank Billo. He was one of three children, and had a sister and a brother.
Throughout his life he enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loved by everyone with whom he crossed paths due to his infectious smile, great sense of humor and kind and generous heart. He was a wonderful provider, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who will be truly missed by all. He entered the USAF and later received a Purple Heart
for injuries he sustained in WWII
. Bill served for 23 yrs. and was stationed in numerous bases throughout the world. Upon his retirement as a Major he settled with his family in Concord and enjoyed a long career in computer programming, retiring in 1985. Bill and Yvonne eventually moved to their home in Clayton with a beautiful view of their beloved Mt. Diablo. They have been parishioners of St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church for over 40 yrs.
Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Yvonne, and children; Jim Billo (Kathy), Judy Urrutia (Carlos), Charlie Billo (Paula), Bonnie Brown (Mark), 16 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would especially like to thank Flora and Paul for giving him such loving care at Diamond Terrace. There are not enough words to express our deepest gratitude for your constant love and attention, especially in our father's final days, helping to give him a peaceful passing.
Now united in heaven with daughter, Mary Christine Brown, and grandchildren Riley Haeling, Brittany Armstrong and Billy Armstrong.
Funeral Liturgy will be Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at 10:30AM at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church 6250 Clayton Rd. Concord, CA
Private inurnment will be in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA at a later date.
